A new law in North Carolina that would impose stiff penalties on certain types of arsons and large-scale thefts at stores is among 10 state-level laws approved by lawmakers this week. The law is scheduled to take effect Thursday.

The firm will add them to its technology companies group and is expanding its team on the East Coast. New York’s top corporate firm has signed a 10-year lease for 27,667 square feet at 3 Times Square, about a 38.5% decrease in space from its current home. The firm is consolidating its offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The move will bring its total footprint to 270,000 square feet. The firm expects to open its new office this summer.
